Son of an Osun Imam has been lynched for allegedly stealing of Iron rods in Osun.

A welder, identified as Ibraheem Olaiya, has been lynched to death for allegedly stealing iron rods belonging to the Redeemer’s University, Ede.

It was gathered that Ibraheem, son of the Amir of Zumuratu Mumini in Ede, was lynched to death by suspected Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) members who reportedly had put him under surveillance.

Ibraheem had earlier been accused of stealing iron rods.

It was gathered that Ibraheem allegedly gave up the ghost while he was being rushed to the State Hospital in Ede.

Reacting to the incident, the Head, Directorate of Public Affairs, Redeemer’s University, Ede, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye confirmed the incident but denied any link between the University and OPC members

Adeleye maintained that the institution had no link with the death of Ibraheem, adding that Redeemer’s University operated a non- violence policy.
