Professor Yemi Osinbajo, vice President federal republic of Nigeria will be delivering the 23rd convocation lecture, on 16th may 2019, titled: centre if excellence in African universities: a veritable catalyst for nation building and development.
This statement was made known by the vice Chancellor Lagos state university professor olanrewaju Fagbohun at the 23rd convocation press briefing on Thursday, he stated that never in the history of the institution have we had it so good, two graduands, Ridwan Oladotun Ola-Gbadamosi from the faculty of engineering and Nneka Karen Emunah of the faculty of science graduated with a CGPA of 4.88 to emerge as the best graduating students.
The vice Chancellor stated that the institution will be convocating 57 first class students, faculty of education produced 10, faculty of engineering two, faculty of management 13, faculty of science 19 among others.
He further stated LASU will graduate 14,369, with 54 obtaining diplomas, 20,252 first degree and 4,063 postgraduate degree
Professor Fagbohun also announced that 37 academic programme of the institution were successful accredited by the National universities commission (NUC), all 70 programme offered at the first degree level are duly accredited.
Other events for the 23rd convocation ceremonies between 2nd and 16th may include coconut breaking festival, convocation cup competition for staff, jumat service, special thanksgiving, command performance and convocation play.
